This was reported by the press service of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES) on Sunday, February 2.
According to the SES, the number of fatalities due to the shelling of Poltava by Russian troops on February 1 has risen to 12.
"The number of deceased has increased to 12, including 2 children. There are 17 injured, among them 4 children. 22 people have been rescued," the statement says.

Recall that on the morning of February 1, explosions occurred in Poltava — the Russians hit a multi-story building, destroying one of the entrances. The attack prompted a response from President Volodymyr Zelensky and the head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak. The region has declared a three-day mourning period.
