More than 10 million 432 thousand people have donated 77 billion 864.1 million UAH to banks in monobank over 1,000 days since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, reported its co-founder Oleg Gorokhovsky on Tuesday.
“Today is a difficult date, so we want to remind you how strong you are!” - he wrote on his Telegram channel.
Earlier, on October 17, Gorokhovsky also mentioned that volunteer Sergey Sternenko raised 1 billion UAH for his bank throughout his activity and suggested Ukrainians help him gather the same amount.
“We have collected over 1 billion UAH for the ‘rusorez’ together! And this is just one bank. Thank you for such immense support to our army,” - commented Sternenko on the results of his fundraising.
The mobile bank without branches, monobank, was founded in January 2017 by former top managers of PrivatBank Oleg Gorokhovsky, Dmitry Dubilet, and Mikhail Rogalsky. It operates under the license of Universal Bank, which is part of the “TAS” group (Kyiv) and currently, according to its own data, serves over 8.86 million clients.
monobank is the second in Ukraine by the number of issued cards: as of Wednesday, it reported 8.946 million active clients, while the market leader, state-owned PrivatBank, had 28.163 million by mid-year, and the third-place state-owned Oschadbank had 7.346 million.
