This was reported by "Suspilne" on Friday, January 24.
Today in Kyiv, a hearing was held to determine the preventive measure for General Yuri Halushkin. His lawyers requested that no preventive measure be imposed and that their client be released from custody in the courtroom. Additionally, they requested the recusal of the prosecutors, but the court denied this motion.
Halushkin himself stated in court that he wants to serve again. He claims he is ready to return to the army at any rank and position.
"I am ready to fulfill my duties and will do so diligently," said Halushkin.
Three individuals filed statements in court, agreeing to take responsibility for the general. Among them were two members of parliament and a military officer.
According to Halushkin's family, who spoke to "Suspilne," he had a plate inserted in his shoulder at the beginning of January. They stated that he did not receive medical assistance after his detention.
As a result, the court decided to take former commander of the Joint Forces Operation in "Kharkiv," Yuri Halushkin, into custody without the right to bail. Moreover, the detention facility was ordered to provide medical assistance and treatment for the suspect.
It should be noted that Halushkin was detained for the second time. He was previously released from the pre-trial detention center after a bail of 5 million UAH was posted. It remains unclear who provided that amount.
People's Deputy Bohdan Kitsak reported that there were instances of trading between Halushkin's unit and Russians. This occurred in the Kharkiv region.
