Farmers in frontline regions have begun receiving grain sleeves for crop storage.

In the Chernihiv region, 44 grain sleeves have already been issued to the first 14 farmers, each capable of holding up to 200 tons of grain, reported Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Vitaliy Koval.

The Minister reminded that 2,550 applications have been registered in the State Agrarian Register (GAR) as part of a joint initiative by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the "Harvest" program of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), and with financial support from the governments of Canada, Japan, the Australian charitable organization Minderoo Foundation, and the United States through USAID.

"After careful consideration and verification of applications according to the program criteria, 1,978 farmers who cultivate up to 1,000 hectares of land were selected, along with 306 farmers with land plots ranging from 1,000 to 10,000 hectares. In total, the FAO will provide 7,000 grain sleeves to small and medium-sized farms with a land bank of up to 1,000 hectares. The 'Harvest' program will supply sleeves to large agricultural enterprises. The distribution of sleeves will continue over the coming weeks to equip farmers with the necessary storage equipment for grain ahead of winter," Koval explained.

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy reminded that the program included agricultural enterprises cultivating from 50 to 10,000 hectares of land in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Chernihiv regions.
