Asvio Bank acquired all rights and obligations of Kominvestbank regarding deposits from individuals and individual entrepreneurs (IE) amounting to 303.7 million UAH on January 31, 2025, as a result of an open competition initiated by the Deposit Guarantee Fund (DGF) as part of the bank's exit procedure from the market, representatives of the Fund announced at a press briefing at the "Ukrinform" agency on Monday.
"In addition to signing contracts, there was also a technical migration. This means that all clients became Asvio Bank customers starting Friday. Funds became available immediately after the transaction. Assets are transferred at fair value," said Victoria Stepanets, Deputy Director of the DGF's Department of Remote and Inspection Monitoring of Banking Activities, during the briefing in Kyiv on Monday.
According to her, this is the best practice when a client does not feel any changes in the event of a bank's insolvency.
As clarified by the DGF, depositors and creditors of Kominvestbank became Asvio Bank clients under the same conditions as in the now insolvent bank after the agreement was signed. All obligations, except for those already paid out as guaranteed compensation by the Fund and part of the obligations to creditors relating to the 7th queue, were transferred to Asvio.
Thus, the total amount of transferred obligations is 303.7 million UAH, of which 265.9 million are obligations of the 3rd queue of creditors (individuals and IE), and 37.8 million are obligations of the 4-6 queues of creditors and part of the 7th, reported the DGF.
