Starting from 2025, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will increase purchases of farm products, which are typically known for their high quality and more affordable prices. The military will receive more fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables, including zucchini, tomatoes, potatoes, cabbage, and apples, the Ministry of Defense reported.
According to the announcement, this became possible after the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense extended the procurement timelines. The relevant changes have been documented in the updated "Delivery and Packaging Periods of Products by the Food Product Catalog."
"We are adapting our procurement processes to the conditions of war. The new requirements for purchasing fresh farm products will allow us to supply the army with higher quality and healthier food," emphasized Deputy Minister of Defense Dmitry Klimenko.
The Ministry of Defense also noted that the ministry's procurement agency, the State Logistics Operator, will begin implementing the updated rules at the start of 2025.
