This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine on Friday, January 17.
Diplomats from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Moldova, North Macedonia, Romania, Slovenia, Turkey, Croatia, and Montenegro gathered in the capital of Ukraine. Officials discussed ways to enhance cooperation and the joint advancement of Euro-integration. Additionally, the conversation included support for Ukraine in countering Russian aggression.
"This is a very important ministerial meeting that develops the Ukraine – Southeast Europe format, embodies the agreements of our leaders, and deepens cooperation between our states for the sake of security, peace, and justice in Europe," noted Andrii Sybiha.
As a result of the meeting, the diplomats adopted a joint communiqué that supports Ukraine's territorial integrity and its defense capabilities. The document also emphasized the need for a just peace and the principle of "nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine."
Furthermore, the diplomats agreed to collaborate on the integration of Ukraine and the Western Balkan countries into the EU. The EU member states declared their readiness to share their experiences.
"All of us, the states aspiring to join the European Union, are not competitors but like-minded partners who seek to contribute to enhancing security and stability in Europe through EU expansion," Andrii Sybiha stated.
