The death of the 72-year-old man was confirmed by the head of the education department of the Chernihiv City Council, Vasiliy Bilogura. He posted a relevant message on Facebook.

"In March 2022, after being hit by Russian shells, his house was completely burned down, and in recent years he lived in an adapted space," — the message states.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that in the first three days of the new year, the Russian army used more than 300 strike drones and about 20 missiles against Ukrainian cities and villages.
