Канада и Мексика объявили о своих ответных мерах на 25% пошлины США на импорт из этих стран.

Canada and Mexico have announced retaliatory measures in response to the 25% tariffs imposed by the U.S. on imports from these countries.

Canada will impose a 25% tariff on $155 billion worth of imports from the United States in response to the tariffs announced by U.S. President Donald Trump, stated Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Canada will impose a 25% tariff on imports from the U.S. amounting to $155 billion in response to the tariffs announced by U.S. President Donald Trump, stated Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

"In response to U.S. trade actions, Canada will implement a 25% tariff on goods worth $155 billion," - said the Prime Minister in a video address.

He explained that starting Tuesday next week, the tariffs will affect goods valued at $30 billion, and then over the following three weeks, to give Canadian companies time to seek alternative partners, on goods worth $125 billion.

The government and the leadership of provinces and territories are also considering the introduction of non-tariff restrictions against the U.S. concerning critically important minerals, energy resources, and other goods, Trudeau noted.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has also instructed the country's Ministry of Economy to prepare all possible measures in response to the U.S. tariffs on Mexican goods, calling the accusations from the White House regarding the Mexican government's ties to criminal organizations slanderous.

"I instruct the Minister of Economy to implement Plan B, which we are working on, including tariff and non-tariff measures to protect Mexico's interests," - Sheinbaum wrote on the social media platform X.

She also accused the U.S. of ineffective efforts to combat the spread of fentanyl and supplying weapons to criminal groups in Mexico.

Sheinbaum proposed to Trump to create a working group involving top experts in public health and security to address issues "not through tariffs, but through negotiation and dialogue."

As reported, Trump will introduce a 25% tariff next week on goods imported from Mexico and Canada, and a 10% tariff on goods from China. Additionally, tariffs on energy resources from Canada will be set at 10% and will cover all Canadian energy sectors, including oil, gas, and electricity.
