Kiev is allocating an additional 2.4 billion UAH to the payroll fund, which will allow for an increase in payments for educators and staff of educational institutions in 2025, reports the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA).
"At the request of the Mayor of Kyiv, the Department of Education and Science conducted interviews with the heads of district education departments regarding salary funding and incentives for industry workers. Based on the calculations, a decision was made to raise salaries for industry workers by approximately 30% according to their qualification category," the statement on the website reads on Friday.
It is reported that, as early as January, additional payments from the payroll fund were received by educators in seven districts of the capital: Holosiivskyi, Desnianskyi, Dniprovskyi, Obolonskyi, Podilskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, and Solomianskyi. In the Pechersk district, bonuses have so far only been received by staff in preschool and extracurricular education.
"Kyiv is fulfilling its commitments by providing funding and support for educators. Unfortunately, we cannot change the rate (this is a function of the state), so the funds will be added in the form of bonuses. We expect that in the near future all districts of the capital will complete the payment of bonuses, which will become monthly in 2025," said Valentin Mondrievskyi, Deputy Head of KCSA, as quoted in the statement.
