Since the start of the heating season 2024/2025, "Kyivteploenergo" has equipped boiler houses in the Holosiivskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, Solomyanskyi, Obolonskyi, and Darnytskyi districts of the capital with generators, as reported by the press service of the Kyiv City State Administration.
"The capacity of the generators ranges from 600 kW to 2 MW. According to "Kyivteploenergo," the company acquired them as part of an international partnership," the statement says.
It is noted that "Kyivteploenergo" also planned to equip boiler houses serving a large number of consumers and entire neighborhoods with alternative power sources. Such boiler houses require high-capacity generators to ensure reliable operation in the event of a power outage.
Before the heating season 2024/2025, the city's boiler houses, where technically feasible, were fitted with generators. In case of a power outage, these generators can restore the operation of heat sources within hours, continuing to supply heat to residential buildings, hospitals, schools, and other social institutions.
Additionally, for alternative heating in emergencies, "Kyivteploenergo" is also prepared to deploy 51 mobile boiler houses. These are used to heat critical facilities in the capital, particularly medical institutions. Already in this heating season, "Kyivteploenergo" has deployed 12 mobile boiler houses to provide heat to important social facilities and residential buildings while repairs are being carried out on the heating networks.
