До конца года Молдова введет в эксплуатацию две солнечные электростанции общей мощностью 90 МВт.

By the end of the year, Moldova will complete the construction of two solar power plants with a total capacity of 90 MW.

The Ministry of Energy of Moldova has submitted investment projects for the construction of two photovoltaic power plants with a total capacity of 90 MW for government approval, the agency reported.

The Ministry of Energy of Moldova has submitted investment projects for the construction of two photovoltaic plants with a total capacity of 90 MW for government approval, the agency reported.

"The installed capacity of the photovoltaic station in Negureni will be 40 MW, while in Rădeni it will be 50 MW. Both facilities are expected to be operational by December of this year, which will significantly contribute to increasing the capacity for electricity production from renewable sources," the statement reads.

The Ministry of Energy notes that these power plants will generate over 100 million kWh of electricity annually, which will cover a significant portion of the electricity needs on the right bank of the Dniester. Once the facilities are operational, the total installed capacity of renewable energy sources will increase to 670 MW from 580 MW by the end of 2024.

Both photovoltaic parks will supply electricity to the free market without resorting to any state support mechanisms.

In 2024, renewable sources accounted for 16.7% of Moldova's annual electricity consumption. The country's authorities aim to raise this share to 30% by 2030.

It was previously reported that the Ministry of Energy of Moldova is also conducting a tender for the construction of wind and photovoltaic parks with a total capacity of 165 MW.
