Radiation Shelter in Odesa Region

The facility is planned to be constructed in the village of Ilyinka, part of the Usatove village council in the Odesa district. It will be located at 6-B Mezhlimanska Street. The projected cost of the project is 53,251,906.60 hryvnias, allocated from the local budget. Tender proposals will be accepted until January 29, 2025, with the auction commencing on the same day.

What is planned

According to the documents, the construction will involve comprehensive capital renovations and finishing works. Specifically, it is planned to:

Demolish old partitions and erect new brick walls;
Install reinforced partitions, metal and wooden doors with ventilation grilles and fire-resistant properties;
Level, plaster, and paint walls and ceilings with special water-emulsion paints.

To ensure the autonomy of the facility, the installation of a diesel generator, as well as ventilation and lighting systems, is planned. Additionally, a dining area will be arranged within the shelter, allowing for extended stays in case of danger. All work is expected to be completed by September 1, 2025.
