When we discuss the new offensive of the Russian army in Zaporizhzhia, it is important to understand that this does not refer to the entire Zaporizhzhia region or the regional center itself.
This was explained by military-political observer Alexander Kovalenko from the "Information Resistance" group during a broadcast on "Direct".
"We are essentially talking about the capabilities of the Russians to conduct offensive and assault actions along the line of confrontation in locations that are of primary interest to them. These are the locations they lost during our counteroffensive in the summer of 2023. Specifically, this refers to the Robotyne salient and the area of Huliaipole," stated Alexander Kovalenko.
Additionally, according to the expert, the focus is on locations along the border between the Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions – namely, the Vremivka direction and the area of Velyka Novosilka, where the occupiers are currently trying to create conditions for an offensive on Velyka Novosilka, encircling it from three sides.
"To talk about an offensive on Zaporizhzhia itself, a large industrial city that has appropriate defenses and defensive lines leading up to the city, with the forces concentrated, for example, in the Tokmak area – well, no, we cannot speak of that. We can only talk about localized activity, not an offensive on Zaporizhzhia," added Alexander Kovalenko.
