The inspection by the State Tax Service (STS) of Ukraine regarding the legitimacy of disability registrations has led 16 individuals from its leadership to leave the service, reported Daniil Hetmantsev, head of the parliamentary committee on financial, tax, and customs activities.
“It is rumored that the STS reviewed all materials concerning leadership figures, including regional ones, who registered as disabled after February 24, 2022. In total, there were 17 such men. One individual with a disability received it due to injuries sustained on the front line,” - the committee head wrote on his Telegram channel on Friday.
According to him, 15 individuals made a “voluntary and honest decision to leave the service,” while one employee chose not to resign, hoping to leverage connections with “someone in power,” but ultimately decided to quit as well.
Hetmantsev added that similar information has been received from other agencies under the Financial Committee: the State Customs Service, the Bureau of Economic Security, the State Financial Monitoring Service, the Commission for Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries, and the National Commission on Securities and Stock Market.
“Relevant requests have been sent,” - he emphasized.
As reported, on October 22, President Zelensky enacted a decision by the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) made on the same day regarding “Counteracting Corruption and Other Offenses in the Establishment of Disability for Officials of State Bodies,” which includes the dissolution of all Medical and Social Expert Commissions (MSEC) by December 31. The corresponding decree No. 732/2024 has been published on the president's website.
The Office of the Attorney General, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), the National Police, and the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) have been recommended to report within a month on “measures taken in response to the identification, investigation, and counteraction of corruption and other criminal offenses in the establishment of disability for officials of state bodies.” Based on the results of the conducted work, appropriate personnel and organizational decisions should be proposed.
