To restore Ukraine following the full-scale Russian invasion, a total of $524 billion is required, according to a report from the World Bank presented in Kyiv on Tuesday.

As noted by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, experts consider the restoration of housing, energy, and critical infrastructure as priority issues. An important aspect is agriculture. The World Bank estimates that direct losses in the agricultural sector due to the war amount to $11.2 billion, while losses related to irrigation and water resources stand at $700 million.

Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Vitaliy Koval emphasized that the total losses in the agricultural sector are currently estimated at nearly $80 billion. This figure accounts for not only direct losses but also indirect ones, including logistics disruptions, land reclamation, demining, land loss, and the rising costs of fertilizers, fuel, etc.

"I am convinced that the restoration of the agricultural sector must begin today. The Ministry of Agrarian Policy, together with international partners, is working on various support programs for farmers. A key priority is to assist farmers in frontline areas," the minister stressed.
