This was reported by the press officer of the military command in the Kursk region, Alexey Dmitrashkovsky, on Tuesday, February 11.
General Alaudinov publicly blamed Ukraine for the airstrike on the boarding school in Sudzha. However, Ukrainian military forces released a video that disproves this claim.
In a phone conversation with a Ukrainian officer, the Russian military leader admitted that the Russians were well aware that only civilians were in the boarding school. He promised not to shell the building until people were evacuated, but he did not keep his promise and instead began accusing the Ukrainian Armed Forces of shelling the boarding school.
At the time of the strike, there were about a hundred civilians inside. These were mainly elderly individuals or people with disabilities. Between 6 to 8 people were left under the rubble. The rest were rescued by Ukrainian military personnel.
Recall that on February 1, the Russians struck the boarding school in Sudzha. The city is currently under the control of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. As a result, 95 people ended up trapped under the debris.
The Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada, Dmitry Lubinets, reacted to the strike in Sudzha. According to him, the Russians knew where they were hitting and had done so before.
