Russian occupiers continue their active offensive operations in the Pokrovsk direction, aiming to take control of Ukraine's strategic logistical routes.
This was stated by military-political analyst Dmitry Snegirev during a broadcast on FREEДОМ.
He notes that the Pokrovsk agglomeration includes not only the city of Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region but also Selidovo and Myrnohrad—major industrial centers of significant defense importance. The main strikes by the Russians are currently aimed at Selidovo and Myrnohrad, where fierce battles are ongoing.
According to Dmitry Snegirev, the primary objective of the occupiers is to encircle Selidovo from the flanks. The Russians have already achieved certain tactical successes, particularly in the area of the settlement of Vysneve, which is a suburb of Selidovo. Fighting is taking place directly within the urban area, but the occupiers have not yet reached the line of high-rise buildings.
"In addition, there has been noted advancement of the occupiers from the railway line towards Tsukurynoe. A similar situation is observed with the movement of occupiers from the settlement of Novohrodivka. The main goal of the occupiers in this direction is to take direct control of the key locations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," the expert pointed out.
Snegirev discusses the routes "Selidovo - Pokrovsk" and "Pokrovsk - Karlivka - Donetsk" as the main locations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which are used for personnel rotation, evacuation of the wounded, and resupply of munitions.
Furthermore, Snegirev noted an increase in the activity of Russian troops in the Kurakhove area. The heaviest fighting is occurring near the settlement of Maksymilianivka, located 3.5 km from Kurakhove.
Snegirev also mentioned that the successes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Pokrovsk direction are partly due to the situation in the Kursk region. The most capable Russian units, including the 810th Marine Brigade and airborne division units, have been redeployed from the Pokrovsk and Kurakhov directions to the Kursk region.
