Sales at "Epicenter" surged by over a third in the initial days of the "Black Friday" promotion.

The turnover in the "Epicenter" network increased by 35.5% during the first days of the "Black Friday" promotion (November 22-24) compared to the same period in October, according to the company's press service.

The Black Friday sale at "Epicenter" and the online store epicentrk.ua started on November 22. The initial days of the sales showed a heightened interest among Ukrainians in discounted products, with discounts reaching up to 70%. In particular, the sales of holiday items (Christmas trees, decorations, toys, etc.) during this period increased 16 times, while the sales of cosmetics, gifts, textiles, and children's toys roughly doubled.

Auto products also exhibited high growth rates, driven by the onset of cold weather and a seasonal increase in demand for windshield wipers (up 4.5 times), washer fluids (more than 3 times), and winter tires (almost doubled).

As a result of a new wave of missile attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure and the return of rolling blackouts, Ukrainians have started purchasing energy products more frequently again. In the first days of the Black Friday promotion, the sales of charging stations surged by 4 times, power banks and generators by 3 times, and gas cylinders and camping stoves by 2.5 times. There was also a significant increase in the sales of battery lamps and lighting, clothing, and footwear.

“Seasonality and external factors, such as weather changes or rolling blackouts, significantly influence the sales dynamics of related product categories. The impact of 'Black Friday' in the country will largely depend on external factors: the information landscape, consumer sentiment, the frequency and duration of air alerts, and so on,” commented Dmitry Tanko, the retail director of the "Epicenter" network.

The company also anticipates a boost in sales as the promotion period approaches its end, which will last until December 2.

The "Epicenter" group of companies is an omnichannel ecosystem that includes the retail chains "Epicenter" and "Nova Liniya," the online store epicentrk.ua, the agricultural holding "Epicenter-Agro," the ceramic tile manufacturing plant Epicenter Ceramic Corporation, the woodworking enterprise CBM "Osmoloda," and logistics capabilities.

Before the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation, the "Epicenter" network comprised over 80 shopping centers across all regions of the country. The war destroyed seven shopping centers in Mariupol, Nikopol, Bucha, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, and Kherson (two). Three more facilities (in Melitopol, Kramatorsk, and Kharkiv) are not operational due to the occupation of Ukrainian territories, shelling, or proximity to combat zones.

As of early November 2024, the retailer's network included 71 operational shopping centers in Ukraine.

According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities and Individual Entrepreneurs, the participants of LLC "Epicenter K" are Alexander Gerga (51.3%), Galina Gerga (47.97%), and Tatyana Surzhik (0.73%).
