Missing for exactly a year: the story of a soldier.

Tatiana's husband went missing in action while carrying out a combat mission near the settlement of Terny exactly one year ago. A year and a half prior to that, he voluntarily joined the fight for Ukraine as part of the 95th Separate Air Assault Brigade.

A woman shared her story with Novini.LIVE.

Tatiana recounts that her husband went on a combat mission in the vicinity of the settlement of Terny exactly one year ago, on February 2, 2024, and has not returned. He is considered missing in action.

"The command says nothing, just 'wait, we don't know anything.' No one has come out from that position, not a single person. About two days later, that area was liberated, and the bodies of the deceased were retrieved, but my husband was not among them. The territory was occupied again from that side, and those positions have now been under occupation for a year," the woman clarified.

Tatiana hopes and continues to believe that her husband is in captivity. Every day, she searches for his information on Russian websites and social media groups, but has yet to find any updates on his whereabouts:

"He was studying in Poland, training to be a driver, but when he returned, he was immediately transferred to the assault troops, on the very first deployment. He called me every time right after coming off the positions. He promised to call back when he got out, but he never did."

Tatiana draws strength from their 3-year-old daughter. She advises others to keep fighting, never lose hope, and participate in memorial events for prisoners of war to ensure their stories are heard.

As a reminder, Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Head of the President's Office, clarified that most cases of missing persons occur not at the front, but specifically in training centers. However, incidents are recorded in combat units.

According to Oleg Synegubov, Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, the search and rescue operation in Izium, Kharkiv region, has concluded as a result of Russian shelling on Tuesday, February 4.
