Russia is strengthening the defense of the Crimean Bridge — here's how they're doing it.

This was reported on Saturday, January 18, during a broadcast on the "We Are Ukraine" channel by the spokesperson for the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Dmytro Pletenchuk.

Russia Strengthens the Crimean Bridge

According to him, Russia continues to allocate resources to reinforce the defensive structures surrounding the illegally constructed Crimean Bridge. Pletenchuk states that the occupiers realize this is one of the key targets that Ukraine could attack, and they are trying to mitigate risks at all costs.

"They are constantly enhancing the defensive structures, as they understand that these fortifications are the last barrier separating the city from our retaliatory actions. Their options are limited, so they strive to hold on to this resource", Pletenchuk explained.

Deploying Air Defense from Across Russia

The advisor to the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine added that the Russians are bringing everything they can to the bridge, particularly air defense systems. Meanwhile, there is little equipment left on Russian territory to protect other significant sites.

"For them, this is a symbol. And they really enjoy playing with symbolism. Therefore, they will expend resources that could be used more efficiently", he added.
