Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal states that in the medium term, there are ample opportunities to double Ukraine's agricultural export volumes and provide food for up to 600 million people worldwide.

"The aggressor is doing everything possible to hinder our agricultural exports, thereby condemning dozens of vulnerable countries to hunger. Fortunately, together with you, our friends and partners, we are successfully countering this strategy," Shmyhal said at the 3rd International Conference on Food Security Grain from Ukraine on Saturday.

The Prime Minister reported that during the full-scale war, Ukraine has harvested its third crop, amounting to over 53 million tons of grains and legumes.

He noted that the harvest for 2024 is still ongoing and there will be sufficient amounts for both domestic needs and export.

Shmyhal also mentioned that thanks to the Black Sea logistics corridor and other routes, Ukraine has restored its export capacities. In particular, in the first 10 months of 2024, the country exported more goods than in the entire year of 2023, with food products (sunflower oil, corn, wheat) being the main components of the export structure.

"We supply products to more than 100 countries for over 400 million people. These are primarily countries in Southeast Asia and Africa. In the medium term, there are all possibilities to double agricultural export volumes and provide food for up to 600 million people worldwide," the Prime Minister emphasized.
