Сикорский напомнил о ранее данных гарантиях безопасности для Украины.

Sikorski recalled the previous security guarantees provided to Ukraine.

Polish Foreign Minister Radek Sikorski reminded that Ukraine had previously received security guarantees. However, in practice, these guarantees proved ineffective.

Sikorsky made this statement during the Munich Security Conference on Saturday, February 15.

Ukraine Already Had Security Guarantees

The politician reminded that Ukraine gave up its nuclear weapons and, in return, allegedly received a guarantee from Russia regarding the inviolability of its borders.

"Are you suggesting that we provide guarantees in case of another Russian attack? What do you mean by that? Does it imply that we will start a war with the Russian Federation?" — Sikorsky stated.

In Sikorsky's view, if guarantees are to be effective, they must entail exactly that — the commencement of war with Russia.

"Therefore, if we are offering guarantees, they must be genuine," — Sikorsky clarified his position.

Previously, Sikorsky speculated that Putin is unlikely to meet with Trump quickly. The new U.S. administration must recognize that the Russian dictator is now quite different from what he was before.

Additionally, Sikorsky suggested that Europe might soon face significant pressure. Such actions will be aimed at reaching an agreement with Moscow.
