Стефанишина прокомментировала обязательства Трампа по обеспечению безопасности Европейского Союза.

Stefanishina assessed Trump's commitments regarding EU security.

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, is tasked with ensuring peace in Europe. However, this does not imply that he is accountable for Russia's actions, fairness, or other aspects of European security. He garnered support from the American people based on his decisions and commitments, and now he must fulfill those obligations.

This was stated by Ukraine's Vice Prime Minister for Eurointegration, Olga Stefanishyna, during the Munich Security Conference on Saturday, February 15, as reported by Novini.LIVE.

Trump's Security Commitments to the EU

The Vice Prime Minister emphasized that U.S. President Donald Trump must play a key role in establishing peace in Europe.

"But that does not mean Trump is accountable for Russia, fairness, and all other aspects of European security. He received the votes of Americans based on his decisions and commitments and now must fulfill them," the spokesperson stated.

Stefanishyna also noted that she feels much more confident today than in February 2022. She attributed this to the unity of the democratic world and the willingness of European leaders to support Ukraine.

"I can confirm that I feel much more confident than on February 24, when the war began, because I know: despite all the difficulties in our democratic camp, we are truly united. I see that European leaders—those present here on the panel, those participating in this meeting—are ready. They are prepared to take on more responsibility. They are ready to stand firmly by Ukraine's side. And this moment is most felt by Ukrainians, as we know what it means to have no one to rely on. This was not evident on February 24, but it is now extremely important that the European Union stands beside Ukraine," the Vice Prime Minister added.

According to her, the support from the European Union now extends far beyond the issue of Eurointegration.

"It's not just about joining the EU, but also about the readiness to take on everything necessary to end the war. This is not merely about distributing the burden in terms of financial commitments and military assistance—it's a shared responsibility for all of us. But at the same time, I am concerned about some signals from parts of the American administration and its representatives, which I also want to draw attention to," Stefanishyna concluded.

Earlier, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock discussed how to influence the U.S. President to engage Europe in the negotiation process to end the war in Ukraine.

We also reported that a decision to end the war could be made in the coming days or weeks.
