This was stated by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi on Telegram on Sunday, January 5.
According to Syrskyi, there is currently an increasing use of unmanned systems on the battlefield.
"The enemy has increased the share of strike UAVs with fiber-optic control channels, which pose a threat to combat equipment during its movement. However, we are also advancing and have started to deploy FPV drones using fiber optics, which expands our capabilities to engage and destroy Russian military equipment and personnel," — the statement reads.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine also noted the growing effectiveness and survivability rates of Ukrainian unmanned systems. The clear leader in this area is the Unmanned Systems Regiment (UAS) under the command of Major Robert Brovdy.
"In December alone, operators of UAS from the Ukrainian Defense Forces targeted over 54 thousand enemy objects. Nearly half of this result — 49% — was achieved using kamikaze drones," — the general reported.
Syrskyi added that the highest performance was demonstrated by the UAS units of the 46th Air Assault Brigade, the 57th Motorized Infantry Brigade, the 28th Mechanized Brigade, the 35th Marine Brigade, and the 3rd Assault Brigade.
"I thank the warriors for their resilience and effectiveness in destroying the enemy," — he concluded.
Earlier, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi made a visit to the Kursk direction. There, he awarded military personnel. The general also showcased the effective work of the Defense Forces fighters, who successfully eliminate Russian occupiers.
