"In Odessa, Americans and Trump directly see a promising region. Again, the ports and tourism can ensure the entry of American companies. Potentially, after a peace agreement or a ceasefire, there could be an influx of investments. However, American companies are still powerful players. The question is how well we can maintain the interests of our European partners alongside our own within the Odessa region. Because indeed, Odessa is an attractive city for both Europe and America," said political scientist Mikhail Shabanov.

Strategic Importance

However, Odessa is not only interesting as a city. Its region and even specific strategic territories, such as Snake Island, may also attract American investors. The geographical location of the region provides access to the Black Sea and Europe, making it an important hub for international trade.

"There is a specific economic interest as well as a purely strategic interest. Namely, Odessa as a strategic city on the Black Sea. In fact, both the Odessa region in particular and Snake Island are strategic positions that are important for the United States and for Trump as a geopolitical player," the expert noted.

Odessa indeed has significant potential to attract American investments, especially in the areas of port logistics and tourism.
