The Cabinet of Ministers approved a draft law on Tuesday that amends the law "On Road Transport" regarding certain issues related to the transportation of perishable food products, reported government representative Taras Melnychuk in the Verkhovna Rada via Telegram.
He noted that the adopted document aims to implement the provisions of the agreement on the international transportation of perishable food products and the special vehicles (SV) designed for such transportation.
"The draft law proposes to define the terms 'isothermal vehicle', 'isothermal vehicle certificate', and 'perishable food products', as well as establish mandatory requirements for obtaining isothermal vehicle certificates for vehicles transporting perishable food products," Melnychuk wrote.
Additionally, it provides for the establishment of requirements for organizations seeking the right to conduct technical inspections in compliance with the agreement's requirements and outlines the powers of the State Service of Ukraine for Transport Safety to inform the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe about the issuance of certificates for isothermal vehicles in Ukraine for their recognition by the participating countries of the agreement.
The government plans to establish a transitional period (one year after the end of martial law) for the mandatory implementation of the agreement's requirements for domestic transportation of perishable food products, as specified in the message.
