Ukrainian metallurgical enterprises saw an 18.2% increase in revenue from black metal exports from January to October this year, totaling $2 billion 665.40 million compared to the same period last year.
According to statistics released by the State Customs Service (SCS), black metals accounted for 7.7% of the total export revenue during this period, compared to 7.6% from January to October 2023.
In October, revenue from black metal exports amounted to $265.72 million, while the previous month it was $332.83 million.
Furthermore, Ukraine increased its import of similar products by 13.5% over the first ten months of this year, reaching $1 billion 251.91 million. In October, imports were valued at $129.45 million.
Additionally, from January to October 2024, Ukraine boosted its export of metal products by 5.7% to $799.01 million, with October's export totaling $77.33 million.
The import of metal products during this period rose by 22.4% to $885.01 million, with imports in October valued at $98.53 million.
As reported, Ukrainian metal enterprises reduced their revenue from black metal exports by 41.6% in 2023 compared to 2022, amounting to $2 billion 647.72 million. Black metals represented 7.3% of the total export revenue during this period, down from 10.3% in 2022. At the same time, Ukraine increased its import of similar products by 37% in 2023, reaching $1 billion 307.05 million.
Moreover, last year, Ukraine decreased its export of metal products by 16.6% compared to the previous year, totaling $877.92 million. Meanwhile, imports of metal products surged by 40.3% during this period, amounting to $902.57 million.
