This was stated by Kyiv City Council deputy Lilia Pashinna in a comment for Novini.LIVE on Thursday, January 30.
Pashinna noted that currently, only three kilometers of pipes are planned for modernization, while in reality, a total of 2400 kilometers need to be repaired for a complete restoration of the networks.
"I personally requested funding for network repairs, particularly for heating networks, because the repair indicators are extremely low. If we continue at this pace, the city will simply not survive. Everyone remembers the situation at Petlyura and Zhilyanska — we have many such cases. There is currently a list of 16 facilities in emergency condition," she stated.
The deputy hopes that the modernization of heating networks will be included in the budget redistribution in March.
"Let's hope that this can be achieved," Pashinna concluded.
Earlier, Oleg Popenko, chairman of the Union of Consumers of Utility Services, stated on the air of Vechir.LIVE that it is urgently necessary to completely replace about 800 kilometers of heating networks in Kyiv.
We also reported that recently, there was a heating network break in the Solomensky district of Kyiv, which caused outrage among local residents. People are expressing their dissatisfaction, as such incidents have occurred multiple times in the capital. Another heating network accident led to significant damage to a building at the intersection of Zhilyanska and Simon Petlyura streets.
