Collection points for Christmas trees have opened in Kyiv.

In the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv, an initiative has been launched to collect Christmas trees that will be recycled in an eco-friendly manner after the holiday season. Last year, approximately seven thousand trees were collected in January alone.

This was reported by correspondent Alexander Sayun during the broadcast of the program Day.LIVE on Tuesday, January 7.

How Christmas Trees Are Used

Trees that are brought to collection points are shredded into chips, which are used for mulching the planting holes of young trees. This helps retain soil moisture during the summer and protects the roots of the trees from freezing in the winter.

It is important that the Christmas trees are brought without decorations, garlands, and other decorative elements that may hinder recycling.

Earlier, we reported that in Stryi, the main Christmas tree of the city fell. Additionally, artificial intelligence showed what the main New Year tree of Ukraine will look like in fifty years.
