The temporary special commission of the Verkhovna Rada for the protection of investors' rights expects that the first loans under the preferential lending program for Ukraine's defense industry will be issued by the end of this year, stated Galina Yanchenko, a member of parliament and chair of the parliamentary temporary special commission (TSC) on investor rights protection.
"We are eagerly anticipating the first loans under the preferential lending program for Ukraine's defense sector. God willing, the first loans will be issued by the end of this year. There has been some bureaucratic red tape in the triangle of the Ministry of Finance - Ministry of Strategic Industries - the Fund for the Development of Enterprises (the fund that should enable banks to provide preferential loans at a 5% annual rate to defense industry companies – IF-U)," Yanchenko said in an exclusive interview with the Interfax-Ukraine agency.
The MP reminded that recently the final meeting of the TSC took place, attended by all defense associations, as well as weapons manufacturers and representatives of state bodies working with the defense industry.
"This provided an opportunity to address issues directly. We hope that such an in-person meeting will expedite the resolution of bureaucratic delays and the issuance of the first preferential loans in the defense sector," Yanchenko noted.
