В Украине уже подключено 967 МВт распределенной генерации, и к концу зимы возможно добавление еще 900 МВт, сообщает Минэнерго.

Ukraine has 967 MW of distributed generation connected, with an additional 900 MW expected to be added by the end of winter, according to the Ministry of Energy.

The total capacity of distributed gas generation installations connected in Ukraine by December 31, 2024, reached 967 MW, with 835 MW commissioned this year.

The total capacity of distributed gas generation installations connected in Ukraine by December 31, 2024, reached 967 MW, of which 835 MW was commissioned this year.

"By the end of the 2024-2025 heating season, it is planned to connect an additional approximately 900 MW. Some of these capacities are already in the final stages of implementation," - reported the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine on Tuesday.

Thus, as noted by the ministry, during the current heating season, an additional gas capacity of between 0.9 to 1.8 GW may be available and utilized.

"Work on connecting additional generating capacities continues. The government has made all necessary decisions to simplify permitting procedures and expedite construction and connection timelines. The positive results of these decisions are already noticeable today," - emphasized Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko.

The Ministry of Energy added that for security reasons, detailed information about the development of distributed energy capacities is not being disclosed, as the Russian Federation uses all data to strike at energy infrastructure.

According to network operators, some generating facilities are connected to the technological electrical networks of consumers and are used to meet the internal needs of enterprises and communities, which positively impacts the energy supply security of these consumers and, consequently, reduces the overall consumption level in the Unified Energy System (UES) of Ukraine.

"This reduces the load during peak hours and mitigates the consequences of consumption restriction measures during deficit periods of the national energy system's operation," - explained the ministry.

The Ministry of Energy urged the owners of distributed generation installations to take advantage of the existing electricity market model and participate in providing ancillary and balancing services.

As reported, citing the Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine – Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksiy Kuleba, Ukrainian communities across the country continue to install and launch energy equipment received from international partners during the heating season, over 50% of which has already been installed and is operational.

Kuleba stated at the All-Ukrainian Congress of Local and Regional Authorities under the President of Ukraine on December 17 that international partners confirmed the supply of 486 cogeneration installations, 296 block-modular boilers, and more than 50% of the supplied equipment has already been installed and is operational. The remaining part is being prepared for operation.
