In a New Year’s video address, opposition leader Peter Madyar criticizes Viktor Orban's corruption. He also demands early elections.
"You have made Hungary the poorest and most corrupt country in the EU," Madyar stated, addressing Orban.
The opposition leader also emphasized that Hungarians have the right to determine their own fate.
It is noteworthy that this is the first instance in Hungary where an opposition politician has made such a statement.
The video has gone viral, already garnering around 2 million views on Hungarian social media.
Madyar's call comes against the backdrop of sociological surveys indicating that Orban's ruling party "Fidesz" is gradually losing its popularity. Meanwhile, the current government has stated that elections will take place next year as planned.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in his New Year’s address mentioned that the Hungarian and Slovak peoples support Ukraine in its struggle against the Russian aggressor.
Zelensky also criticized the negotiations that Viktor Orban held with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
