According to intelligence data, North Korean soldiers who fought alongside Russian forces were withdrawn due to significant losses. It is estimated that Pyongyang sent about 11,000 troops to support the Russian army. Of these, at least 300 were killed, and around 2,700 were injured.
"Since mid-January, there have been no indications that North Korean troops deployed in Russia's Kursk region are participating in combat operations," stated the National Intelligence Service.
The NIS notes that an analysis of the reasons behind this decision is ongoing. However, the absence of North Korean forces on the front lines since mid-January may be directly linked to the casualties they suffered as a result of combat actions.
Recall that at the end of January, it became known that Russia had withdrawn North Korean troops from the front due to a high risk of casualties, particularly in the Kursk region.
Additionally, reports emerged in the media that in North Korea, men are bribing doctors for fake certificates to avoid going to war.
