This was stated by former U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker during a panel discussion at UKRAINE HOUSE DAVOS on Monday, January 20.
According to Volker, there are indeed forecasts suggesting that Trump will end support for Ukraine. However, the former U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine is convinced that this will not happen.
"Many people are concerned that Trump will threaten Ukraine or stop providing military or financial assistance, or will urge Ukraine to accept an agreement that involves giving up territories. I don't think that will happen. The reason is very simple — it would mean that Putin wins, and Trump loses. And that is not what President Trump wants," Volker stated.
We remind you that the World Economic Forum has begun in the city of Davos, Switzerland. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will also participate in the event.
Media sources suggest that Donald Trump will declare a state of emergency in U.S. energy. This will be done to stimulate domestic electricity production.
