The President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed this in an interview with Lex Fridman on Sunday, January 5.
As Volodymyr Zelensky noted, there is currently no definitive answer regarding whether he will run for another term. The head of state stated that this is a very complex issue.
"It depends on how this war ends. It all depends on what the people want. Primarily, it depends on the people and of course on my family. We haven't had the time to discuss this with my family. And, of course, there hasn't been the opportunity because right now we are not thinking about it," — said Zelensky.
He also added that there is a lot of talk in Ukraine about the upcoming elections. In particular, some politicians and opposition representatives are discussing this.
"I think there could be many candidates. We do not know what will actually happen. They have the right to run. If they want and have the opportunity, then they can run and act as they wish. The most important thing is what they are doing now. I believe that all these people are well-known Ukrainians, and it is very important for them to do everything they can today, rather than starting some electoral campaign. I think holding elections during wartime could create a division among our people," — said the head of state.
Recall that Volodymyr Zelensky stated in an interview with Lex Fridman that Ukraine is fighting against corruption and trying to punish those involved. He noted that one of the most influential oligarchs, Ihor Kolomoyskyi, is currently in prison.
The President of Ukraine also sharply criticized the actions of partners before the start of Russia's full-scale invasion, referring to the time when Ukraine was requesting assistance.
