The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, plans to discuss with the head of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), Andriy Pyshny, the enhancement of funding accessibility for the "eOselya" mortgage program in frontline regions.
"First and foremost, funding should be directed to your and other frontline regions because people there are facing the toughest challenges. Honestly, I understand that banks operate this way due to risks, but it seems to me that if it weren't for the resilience of regions like Kharkiv, Chernihiv, and Sumy, there would be neither these banks nor their owners," - he stated during the All-Ukrainian Congress of Local and Regional Communities on Tuesday.
"I will talk to the chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine; we will think about how to create a program for all other banks, both state and private, to assist," - Zelensky added.
The President suggested the possibility of establishing a separate "eOselya" program aimed at financing borrowers from frontline areas.
