The Ministry of Social Policy states that the ministry itself, the Pension Fund, and social protection authorities are operating as usual, and the attack on the Ministry of Justice's registries will not affect the payment of social benefits to citizens.
"Attention to recipients of social benefits and allowances! As it is known, the aggressor country recently launched a cyberattack on the state registries of Ukraine. Therefore, some services of the state registries are temporarily unavailable, and efforts are ongoing to restore them. We inform you that the Ministry of Social Policy, the Pension Fund, and social protection authorities are functioning normally," the ministry's statement reads.
The ministry noted that the attack on the Ministry of Justice's registries will not impact the payments to citizens, and all payments will be made according to schedule.
"Benefits payments in January will also be made on time. The process of disbursement continues, despite the increased workload on our specialists. We would like to emphasize that payments for internally displaced persons (IDPs) will also be calculated and paid according to schedule," the statement said.
As reported, the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine announced on December 19 about a large-scale failure at the network infrastructure level servicing the state registries.
Later, the Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration and Minister of Justice of Ukraine, Olga Stefanishyna, stated that the Russian Federation had launched a cyberattack on the state registries under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Justice, aiming to disrupt critical infrastructure operations, which have been temporarily suspended. She noted that the estimated time for priority restoration would take up to two weeks. According to her, the first registries to be restored will be the State Registry of Civil Status Acts, the Unified State Registry of Legal Entities and Individual Entrepreneurs, and the State Registry of Property Rights and Their Burdens.
On December 20, Stefanishyna stated that all data in the registries will be restored, but it will take some time, and that as a result of the cyberattack by the Russian Federation on the Ministry of Justice's network infrastructure servicing the state registries, no personal data leak has been confirmed.
