В 2024 году ЕБРР выделил Украине рекордные средства — почти EUR 2,4 млрд.

In 2024, the EBRD granted Ukraine a record funding of nearly €2.4 billion.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) reported that it provided Ukraine with nearly EUR 2.4 billion last year, compared to EUR 2.1 billion in 2023, marking a record high in the history of its cooperation with the country, according to a press release from the bank on Thursday.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) provided nearly EUR 2.4 billion to Ukraine last year, compared to EUR 2.1 billion in 2023, marking a record high in the history of cooperation with the country, the bank announced in a press release on Thursday.

"The bank is the largest institutional investor in Ukraine, significantly increasing its investment volumes since the onset of the full-scale Russian invasion in February 2022. The total amount of financing provided by the EBRD to Ukraine during the war is nearly EUR 6.2 billion," the statement notes.

It is highlighted that the EBRD's priority sectors in Ukraine remain: support for energy security, vital infrastructure, food security, as well as trade and the private sector. The press service specifies that trade financing is included in the overall amount along with investments.

The EBRD plans to maintain its investment levels in Ukraine at around EUR 1.5 billion per year, with a potential increase during the recovery phase, following the capital increase agreement reached in 2023 for EUR 4 billion, bringing the total to EUR 34 billion.

"Our shareholders have shown tremendous confidence in us by agreeing to a significant capital increase to support our activities in Ukraine and other countries affected by the war. More than anything, I hope that 2025 will be the year of recovery. This is where the EBRD can truly excel - we will leverage our financial expertise and experience to help rebuild better than before," said EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso.

It is noted that the total amount of financing provided by the EBRD in 2024 reached EUR 16.6 billion, which is 26% more than the previous record of EUR 13.1 billion in 2023.

The EBRD was established in 1991. According to the latest data, during its operation, the financial institution has invested over EUR 21.29 billion in Ukraine. The current portfolio consists of 614 projects amounting to EUR 5.58 billion.
