There are agreements in place for Lithuania's first tranche amounting to EUR 10 million for the implementation of the "Danish Initiative" as early as 2024, announced Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
"There are agreements regarding Lithuania's first tranche of EUR 10 million for the implementation of the 'Danish Initiative' this year. Following the Danish example, Lithuania has effectively become the second country among our partners to adopt this approach," Shmyhal stated at a joint briefing with Lithuanian Prime Minister Gintautas Paluckas in Kyiv on Friday, following a joint meeting of the governments of Ukraine and Lithuania.
He noted that Lithuania also confirmed its readiness to further enhance cooperation in the defense industry of the countries.
"This involves joint production of drones, electronic warfare systems, and munitions," Shmyhal added.
Moreover, according to him, Lithuania is supporting and will continue to support Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic integration.
"It will provide both political support and advisory assistance throughout the negotiation process for EU membership and on the path to the North Atlantic Alliance," the Prime Minister emphasized.
