The 2025 state budget allocates 11.3 billion UAH for cultural funding.

The Ukrainian state budget for 2025 allocates 11.3 billion UAH for the funding of the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications.

The state budget of Ukraine for 2025 allocates 11.3 billion UAH for the financing of the Ministry of Culture and strategic communications.

"In the context of war, culture and strategic communications remain crucial. In 2025, 11.3 billion UAH has been allocated for these sectors, of which 10.5 billion comes from the general fund of the state budget. Overall funding for the culture sector and state media has increased by 7%,” the Ministry of Culture stated.

Specifically, over 2 billion UAH is earmarked for public broadcasting in the state budget; the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation (UCF) is set to receive 250 million UAH (which is 15% more compared to 2024); the Ukrainian Book Institute (UBI) will receive 278.6 million UAH for promoting Ukrainian literature and supporting publishing, including the implementation of the E-book project; and for strategic communications and information security – 405 million UAH.

"It is important that the needs for the protection of reserves and museums under the ministry's management are fully met. Additionally, in 2025, funding of 70 million UAH is allocated for the construction of shelters in reserves to ensure visitor safety,” the statement noted.

It is also mentioned that the continuation of the support program for institutions under the Ministry of Culture for restoration, major repairs, and preservation of immovable heritage is planned.

As reported, the state budget for 2024 provides for 10.7 billion UAH for financing the culture and information policy sectors.
