The Ukrainian government has submitted a draft law to the Verkhovna Rada that proposes requiring certain categories of citizens to allocate their monthly benefits towards the payment of housing and communal services, as reported by Taras Melnychuk, a representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada.

The Ukrainian government has registered a bill in the Verkhovna Rada that proposes to require certain categories of citizens to monthly allocate the funds received from benefits towards the payment of housing and communal services, reported Taras Melnychuk, a representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada.

"The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has registered in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine the draft law 'On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine Regarding the Provision of Benefits for the Payment of Housing and Communal Services' (reg. No. 12427)," Melnychuk stated in a Telegram message on Monday.

It was noted that the bill aims to enhance the mechanism for providing benefits for the payment of housing and communal services by establishing control over their targeted use, specifically directing state budget funds towards these payments.

"The draft law proposes to amend the laws of Ukraine that provide benefits for citizens in paying housing and communal services, particularly to stipulate that eligible categories of citizens must monthly allocate the funds received from the benefits to cover the costs of consumed housing and communal services, and the conditions for granting benefits in case of non-payment for consumed housing and communal services using the benefits will be determined in accordance with the procedure established by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine," Melnychuk indicated.
