Members of the Kyiv City Council have approved the capital's budget for 2025, which includes revenues exceeding 90.6 billion UAH and expenditures at 90 billion UAH.
During the city council meeting on Thursday, 85 deputies voted in favor of the decision.
The largest share of revenue comes from tax collections, with personal income tax (PIT) projected at 40 billion UAH (44.7% of the total), which is 8 billion more than this year.
Revenues from local taxes have been increased to 20.7 billion UAH (23.2%) compared to 16.8 billion UAH. Corporate profit tax revenues are also expected to rise from the 2024 budget to 14.5 billion UAH (16.2%) compared to 7.5 billion UAH. Funds from land sales are planned at 400 thousand UAH, down from 2.8 billion UAH this year.
The main area of funding is education, receiving 32.4 billion UAH (36.1%). The transport sector will get 18.6 billion UAH (20.8%), social protection approximately 10 billion UAH (11.2%), housing and communal services 7 billion UAH (7.8%), healthcare around 6.5 billion UAH (7.2%), and telecommunications 2.5 billion UAH (2.8%).
For the support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 5 billion UAH is allocated for the material and technical supply of military units.
Expenditures for culture are set at 2.1 billion UAH (2.4%), while physical education and sports will receive 1.6 billion UAH (1.9%).
