Biosphere Corporation plans to establish a production facility for trash bags in Uzbekistan.

The "Biosphere" Corporation, a leading player in the market for home goods manufacturing and distribution, plans to launch a production facility for garbage bags in Uzbekistan next year, utilizing recycling methods instead of primary polymers. The company aims to actively promote its products in Uzbekistan and neighboring markets in Central Asia, as stated by the founder and CEO, Andrey Zdesenko.

The "Biosphere" Corporation, a leading player in the market for the production and distribution of household goods, plans to launch a production facility for trash bags in Uzbekistan next year based on recycling rather than primary polymers, and actively promote its products in this and neighboring markets in Central Asia, reported the founder and CEO of the corporation, Andrey Zdesenko.

"This will utilize our 'Polygreen' plant in Fastiv, which currently has a 20% capacity reserve. It will also allow us to construct another plant in Ukraine that will produce pellets and send them to Uzbekistan for the manufacturing of trash bags, which we will then supply to surrounding countries," he stated in an interview with the Interfax-Ukraine agency.

"Then we will move on to sponge scrubbers, foil film, slider bags – the entire range necessary for development," Zdesenko added.

He clarified that Uzbekistan has protected its market by banning the export of trash bags of certain thicknesses, thereby encouraging the launch of domestic production. Additionally, logistics costs to the region, for example to Kazakhstan, have tripled due to the war, and delivery times have increased from three weeks to two months.

"Therefore, if we want to be in the Uzbekistan market, where I believe there will be 40 million people in about five years, we need to produce there," the head of "Biosphere" noted.

He also emphasized that there are approximately 100 million people surrounding Uzbekistan, including Afghanistan, whose market is actively developing, and there are many trading hubs in the region where very active business takes place.

The "Biosphere" Corporation has been operating in Ukraine for over 25 years. Its product portfolio includes more than 1,000 items under 16 of its own brands ("Freken BOK", "Fayniy bonus", Vortex, Laikit, Smile, Smile Baby, Superfresh, Bambik, Novita, Lady Cotton, Alufix, PRO service, GoWipes, "Chysta Peremoha", Pany Blisk, and PoketMon). The corporation is an official distributor of such international brands as TORK, Selpak, and Fantom.

The corporation's facilities in Ukraine are represented by three plants with a total production area of 35,000 sq. m in Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, and Khmelnytskyi regions, as well as logistics complexes covering 30,000 sq. m. Together with the French Groupe Lemoine, "Biosphere" also owns a plant in Estonia for the production of cotton products with an area of 8,500 sq. m.

At the end of 2023, a new FOOD direction was launched with its own production of Cupsoul, featuring tea brands such as Graff, Ritz Barton, and others.
