The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine continually monitors price dynamics both overall and for specific categories of goods. Currently, there is no need to introduce additional price regulation, stated Deputy Minister of Economy Andriy Teliupa.

"At this moment, we do not see the necessity to implement further price regulation, but we are closely observing the market to prevent any abuse of market power or collusion among market participants," - he said in an interview with the "Interfax-Ukraine" agency.

Teliupa emphasized that price regulation should be a last resort, particularly when it does not concern monopolistic markets.

"We fully support market regulation and the deregulation of pricing. Thus, we have only twice introduced a maximum trade markup on socially significant goods and temporarily restricted fuel prices," – the Deputy Head of the Ministry of Economy highlighted.

As reported, inflation in Ukraine decreased to 5.1% in 2023 after a surge to 26.6% the previous year, and by the end of 2024, it rose to 12%.
