Правительство Молдовы планирует ввести чрезвычайное положение в энергетическом секторе.

The Moldovan government will call for a state of emergency in the energy sector.

Moldovan Prime Minister Dorin Recean announced that he will call for a state of emergency in the energy sector and will personally take on the responsibilities of the Minister of Energy.

The Prime Minister of Moldova, Dorin Rechan, announced that he will demand the introduction of a state of emergency in the energy sector and will personally take on the responsibilities of the Minister of Energy.

"In the near future, the government will ask parliament to declare a state of emergency in the energy sector starting from December 16. This emergency regime must remain in place until the crisis regarding gas and electricity supplies for the citizens of Moldova is resolved, including those from the Transnistrian region," Rechan stated at a press conference on Thursday.

He reiterated that "the winter will be tough," but the government will do everything possible to "minimize risks" and will be prepared for any scenario.

During the press conference, he called for the resignation of the Minister of Energy, Victor Parlicov.

"I have approached President Maia Sandu with a request for the resignation of the Minister of Energy, Victor Parlicov. Additionally, I demanded the resignation of the director of the state company Energocom, Victor Bynzary, and a member of the supervisory board of the company 'Moldovagaz,' Sergey Tofilat," Rechan stated.

The Prime Minister justified the need for Parlicov's resignation by stating that he "was responsible for the energy sector and made mistakes that led to the crisis."

Until a new Minister of Energy is appointed, the Prime Minister himself will perform these duties.

"I will coordinate the management of this crucial sector for the country..." Rechan emphasized.

He also called for the resignation of the general director of the state company Energocom, Victor Bynzary.

"The company did not purchase the necessary volumes of gas when it was possible, citing bureaucratic procedures. As a result, gas was not bought at the most favorable prices... I also propose the resignation of the member of the Supervisory Board of 'Moldovagaz,' Sergey Tofilat. Mr. Tofilat, lacking authority, blocked the gas purchase by responsible institutions when it was advantageous," the Prime Minister said.

He urged for the shareholders' meetings of the company to be convened as soon as possible to appoint a new member to the supervisory board.

"The Supervisory Board must also promptly approve the results of the competition for appointing a new management for 'Moldovagaz,'" the Prime Minister declared.

According to the legislation, the President of Moldova can sign a decree for the resignation of the minister at the request of the Prime Minister.
