Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal discussed with representatives of this international organization the priority areas for its application, particularly in providing drinking water, demining, and alternative sources of heat and energy.

"The UN aims to secure over $2.6 billion for Ukrainian support in 2025. This is part of a plan approved by the organization. I discussed its implementation with UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, Emergency Coordinator Tom Fletcher, and UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi," - wrote Shmyhal on Telegram on Thursday.

According to him, this pertains to the UN's Humanitarian Needs and Response Plan for Ukraine in 2025.

"We also talked about ongoing and new support programs. In particular, I highlighted priority projects such as providing drinking water to communities in Southern Ukraine, demining, alternative sources of heat and energy, housing restoration, and the construction of shelters, as well as programs for business development. We expect that all assistance programs for Ukrainians will continue, and we also anticipate a significant contribution from the UN to humanitarian demining in Ukraine this year, especially through the initiation of new programs and projects," - Shmyhal clarified.

"I expressed gratitude for the humanitarian programs aimed at supporting internally displaced persons and managing the winter period, implemented jointly with the Ukrainian government. For this heating season, the UN has allocated $492 million," - Shmyhal reported.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the partnership between Ukraine and the UN and UNHCR continues to evolve. "Thank you for the support and assistance provided to Ukrainians affected by the war," - he added.
