Ukraine, the UK, and Lithuania are launching the Grain Verification Scheme (GVS) to combat the illegal export of grain from occupied territories.

During the Berlin conference of agriculture ministers, the agricultural ministers of Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and Lithuania signed an updated Memorandum to launch the Grain Verification Scheme (GVS) aimed at combating the illegal export of Ukrainian grain from occupied territories, as reported by Vitaliy Koval, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food.

Agricultural ministers from Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and Lithuania signed an updated Memorandum for the launch of the Grain Verification Scheme (GVS) during the Berlin Conference of Agriculture Ministers, as reported by the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, Vitaliy Koval.

"This is the first step at the ministerial level in implementing the strategic agreement between Ukraine and the United Kingdom, which will serve as the foundation for our cooperation for the next hundred years. The pilot implementation of this initiative will take place in Lithuania – at the port of Klaipeda, which will become a key hub for verifying the origin of Ukrainian agricultural products," - wrote him on Telegram.

The minister noted that this system provides transparent control over grain: GVS will enable the identification of stolen grain and halt its illegal transportation. Additionally, an innovative database from the United Kingdom – advanced technologies for determining the place of cultivation – will help protect the interests of Ukrainian farmers and ensure market transparency.

"This collaboration is an example of how Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and Lithuania are jointly establishing new standards of safety and fairness in the agricultural sector, which will impact the future of global food security," - Koval emphasized, expressing gratitude to partners for their trust and support.

The Minister of Agrarian Policy stressed that Ukraine will strive for victory not only on the battlefield but also in defending our resources and rights.
