This was announced by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during his speech in Davos on Tuesday, January 21.
Zelensky pointed out that the Russian dictator Putin aimed to drag another country into the conflict. This is why North Korean troops were sent to Kursk.
"The Russian Federation did not have enough strength to push us out. Today, there are more than 60,000 Russian soldiers there (in the Kursk region. — Ed.). Additionally, there were 12,000 North Koreans, of which four thousand have died," — stated the head of state.
As a reminder, Ukrainian fighters in the Kursk region captured a North Korean soldier. The Korean was injured and wanted to take his own life to avoid falling into the hands of the Defense Forces.
The Russians attempted a large-scale attack in Kursk. Units of the 47th separate mechanized brigade "Mahura," along with adjacent Defense Forces, repelled the assault of the occupiers.
