According to Zelensky, Russia is planning to form 15 divisions, which translates to 100-150 thousand troops that could be deployed not only to intensify combat operations in Ukraine but also to launch offensives against European Union countries.
"Do you know what is happening in Belarus? Already this year, the Russian Federation will prepare 15 divisions for training and to escalate the situation on the Belarusian front, and we believe that they will all be either fully or partially stationed in Belarus. This will involve 100-150 thousand people. It's a significant force. And I am not sure this force will go into Ukraine. I am being honest with you. It could go into Ukraine, or it might head towards Poland or the Baltic states," Zelensky stated.
Vladimir Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine requires security guarantees from NATO.
"We need security guarantees. Yes, we want to join NATO, but I do not want to leave Ukrainians without security assurances. Our army is one and a half to two times larger, with complete understanding at 100%," the president said.
Recall that German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius stated that the Kremlin poses a threat to the country.
Meanwhile, a U.S. official, despite recent statements from Donald Trump and Mark Rutte, asserted that Ukraine has a chance to join NATO.
